Rihanna Satana

This photograph of pop music star Rihanna is from her new album Rated-R. I first saw the photo on a blog that jokingly said she was covering it to hide a bruised eye that Chris Brown gave her. Now that might be funny to some people, but to me that is offensive. But not in a way that I'm angry, but in a way that I'm insulted. Am I so stupid? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me (or if you're a fan of George Bush Jr. it's, "You fool me you can't get fooled again.") Our entire society, and in this context pop culture, is a phantasmic illusion of our collective consciousness. This photo of Rihanna is an allusion of sorts as well.

The covering of the eye is an occult/secret society symbol for the 'all seeing' eye of Horus. Lady Gaga (another mega star) likes to use similar imagery in several photographs. I know, I know conspiracy theory. Move along nothing to see here but "why the subtle messages?" Rihanna has used this secret society symbolism over and over again in her music videos. Unlike the blatant satanic symbolism popular in 70's and 80's rock, Rihanna's subtle luciferian symbology is hidden from those individuals not aware of the occult and esoteric meanings.

Most people will simply see this pose as fashionable, and you know, that might just be the case. But those who understand symbolism know that the All-Seeing Eye is an important occult symbol. The gesture of hiding one eye, the right eye symbolizing the Sun (Ra) and the left eye symbolizing the moon (Horus), goes way back in esoteric and mystery school teachings. Let me give you a little occult history lesson. (insert hubris)

Horus was the son of Osiris and Isis. He was called ‘Horus who rules with two eyes’. His right eye was white and represented the sun: his left eye was black and represented the moon. According to the myth, Horus lost his left eye to his evil brother, Seth, who he fought to avenge Seth’s murder of Osiris. Seth tore out of the eye but lost the fight. The eye was reassembled by magic, by Thoth, the god of writing, the moon and magic. Horus presented his eye to Osiris, who then experienced rebirth in the underworld. So is Rihanna's gesture a symbol for her rebirth or as my son would say something 'dark'?

The psychological affect of the image could be a symbolic appeal to the sub-conscious: Our instinctual concept of self in relation to archetypal ideals. Carl Jung believed the collective unconscious (also subconscious) holds symbolic truths shared by a society, humanity and really all life forms, that is the product of ancestral experience and contains such concepts as science, religion, and morality. Jung referred to the collective consciousness as, "a reservoir of the experiences of our species." Is Rihanna using these ancient symbols to somehow relay subtle messages that are recognized through our collective consciousness and subconsciously transmitting to the brains of pop culture aficionados?

It seems preposterous that Rihanna is not aware of the message she is transmitting to zombified minds around the world. Entranced and enhanced for our material pleasures. Hence, I wonder what she had to give up or away to have her photograph attached to everything. Maybe she is a lovely monarch butterfly set free, yet with much direction. Maybe not. But I'm pretty certain she's been to 'the' party in Stanley Kubrick's revealing masterwork Eyes Wide Shut. I am curious to see what her future holds. So are other people I'm sure, for different reasons I'm certain. I personally hope her life goes beautifully and paying homage to pagan deities works out splendid (everyone has experienced satanism, luciferianism, and paganism in some aspect of their life) . But when you're selling this type of product, BAM... the pen you signed that big contract with might end up in the back of your neck.
